SKOPJE GROUP Directoriate for Human Rights with the ERTF
INTRODUCTION

Skopje Group is part of the Directoriate for Human Rights with the European Roma and Travellers Forum (ERTF) , ERTF is consultation partner to the CoE and its institutions on policies and activities concerning Roma and Traveller communities across Europe. The Skopje Group is working on the problematic of migration with a special attention to the problem of the Roma from Kosovo, the Balkans and Europe. Its first assembly was held 25.03.2006 in Skopje and for this city it got its name.The meeting was held with a joint cooperation with OSCE ODIHR CPRSI Warsaw. On the first meeting 20 Roma representatives participated. The Skopje Group from that first period till now was constantly open for supporters of this problematic, there has been some changes but this was always with positive effect. First coordinator of the group was Gjuner Abdula and after him was Asmet Elezovski from December 2006. Our task is to work on participation, repatriation, security, health problematic, resposnability of the international community on the issue of the Roma from Kosovo and the Balkans.
